6 militant groups renounce violence
KABUL (PAN
): Six militant groups have joined the peace process in Kandahar, Herat, and Nangarhar provinces, the Afghan spu service said on Friday.
Four of the groups involving 25 individuals, led by Mullah Rahmatullah, were active in the Panjwai district of southern Kandahar province.
A statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said a 12-member group, headed by Maulvi
Aqa Gul surrendered in the Injil district of Herat.
In Momand Dara and Batikot districts of Nangarhar, Commander Bahadar renounced violence along with six supporters, surrendering their weapons.
